Give It Plenty of Bright Light Jade plants love bright, indirect sunlight. Place yours near a sunny window (south or west-facing is ideal). If grown indoors, at least 4-6 hours of light daily will keep it happy.
Use Well-Draining Soil A mix designed for succulents and cacti works best. You can also create your own by mixing regular potting soil with sand or perlite for better drainage.
Avoid Overwatering (Less Is More!) Overwatering is the quickest way to kill a jade plant. Water only when the top 1-2 inches of soil are completely dry. In winter, cut back on watering even more, as the plant’s growth slows
Choose the Right Pot Use a pot with drainage holes to prevent root rot. Terra cotta pots are ideal because they allow excess moisture to evaporate.
Keep It Warm, but Not Too Humid Jade plants prefer temperatures between 65–75°F (18–24°C) during the day and slightly cooler at night. Avoid placing them near cold drafts or overly humid areas.
Feed It Sparingly Fertilize with a balanced, diluted succulent fertilizer once every 3-4 months during the growing season (spring and summer). Avoid fertilizing in fall and winter.
Prune for Shape and Health Trim leggy or overgrown branches to encourage bushier growth. If you want to propagate new plants, you can use the cuttings!
